Chinese New Year, Tet & Lunar New Year: 2 of the Hottest Places to Celebrate the Year of the Pig in Vancouver

Wondering where to ring in the Year of the Pig in Vancouver? Look no further, friends. Here’s two of my top places to be this week.

1) Experience China’s most incredible places without ever leaving Vancouver.

How’s it possible to see the Great Wall of China without actually hopping on a plane to fly there? Enter Flyover Canada. Located at 201 – 999 Canada Place, Flyover Canada is doing Flight of the Dragon, a special feature that uses some seriously fancy technology — movement, scent and touch effects included — to simulate a breathtaking flight experience. Flight of the Dragon runs until Feb 24!

2) Can’t stop. Won’t stop. Tinseltown’s 3 day-long festivities are vibrant and unforgettable.

Located at 88 West Pender Street, Tinseltown — formally known as International Village — ushers Chinese New Year in with tradition and community.

A couple highlights:

The opening celebration, Lion Dance included, will see local public figures and government officials in attendance in addition to the general public.

On the last day, Chinatown's Chinese New Year Parade will include more than 4000 performers!
